UAE – Wynn Resorts has confirmed that construction work on the Wynn Al Marjan Island project in Ras Al Khaimah has resumed following a brief operational pause, with stringent safety protocols implemented to protect on-site staff while executive teams maintained strategic planning and design work without interruption.
The US$3.9 billion integrated resort, developed in partnership with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding, represents the first-ever gaming resort in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Slated to open early 2027, the 1,542-room property will feature a 1,000-foot tower, high-end shopping, a pool complex and extensive gaming facilities, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a significant player in global luxury tourism.
The company offered flexible remote work options for employees whose home embassies advised relocation, while design, architecture and operational planning teams continued consistent work throughout.
In addition, Wynn maintains regular communication with both U.S. and Ras Al Khaimah governments to inform decision-making, noting that “the broad defense posture of the UAE has worked extremely well, and we have confidence in the UAE’s ability to keep its population safe.“
The project anchors Ras Al Khaimah’s ambitious tourism strategy targeting 3.6 million annual visitors by 2030, with Wynn’s presence expected to catalyze further international investment in the emirate’s hospitality infrastructure.
The development timeline remains aligned with pre-pause schedules, demonstrating project resilience amid regional volatility.
“For broad segments of the local population, business continues to follow normal patterns,” the company stated, signaling that operational confidence extends beyond the project itself to the broader UAE business environment.
More importantly, Wynn thanked employees and construction teams for “their truly remarkable commitment and professionalism during this extraordinary time.“
For hospitality investors, Wynn’s rapid resumption and public vote of confidence in UAE security infrastructure sends powerful signals about regional project viability.
That is, the ability to maintain construction momentum, protect workforce safety and continue strategic planning during uncertain periods demonstrates the operational maturity that distinguishes world-class developments.
As the first integrated resort in the region, Wynn Al Marjan Island‘s progress will be closely watched by global investors seeking exposure to the UAE’s expanding tourism ecosystem.
