SOMALIA – Sarovar Hotels has strengthened its East African presence with the opening of Serene Sarovar Premiere Hargeisa, the first internationally branded luxury hotel in Somaliland.

This development underlines the Indian hospitality group’s strategic focus on capitalising on high-growth regional markets, following the success of its operations at Nairobi’s iconic Heron Hotel.

He stated, “East Africa represents a key growth frontier for luxury hospitality.”

“Our investment in Somaliland’s first international five-star property demonstrates our commitment to developing high-potential emerging markets and expanding our footprint across the region.”

The Serene Sarovar Premiere Hargeisa project was developed in partnership with prominent local businessman Abdikarim Mohammed Eid, blending global hospitality standards with regional expertise.

The 134-room hotel is designed to meet increasing demand from both business and leisure travellers attracted by Somaliland’s improving economic landscape.

Somaliland’s evolving hospitality sector is drawing growing investment, spurred by the region’s expanding trade, tourism, and overall economic activity.

The hotel aims to serve as a prominent landmark in Hargeisa, providing premium accommodation and facilities.

The property features upscale amenities catering to modern luxury standards and expectations, appealing to international visitors and local guests alike.

Its opening marks a significant milestone for Somaliland’s market, setting new benchmarks for quality and service.

Sarovar’s entry into Somaliland aligns with its broader East African strategy to tap into emerging opportunities, build brand presence, and contribute positively to regional economic growth through hospitality investments.

The group continues to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, leveraging local partnerships for operational excellence and cultural integration.

By establishing a footprint in Somaliland, Sarovar Hotels positions itself to benefit from future growth, positioning luxury hospitality as a key component of the region’s tourism infrastructure.

This expansion reinforces Sarovar’s reputation as a leading Indian hospitality player committed to innovation and market diversification across Africa.

As Somaliland’s economy evolves, properties like Serene Sarovar Premiere Hargeisa will play a vital role in attracting multinational business and high-end leisure tourism.
