UK – Six Senses London has opened within The Whiteley, the former Whiteley’s emporium on Bayswater’s Queensway, bringing the brand’s signature emotional hospitality, wellness and sustainability to the UK capital.
To begin with, the hotel’s BREEAM-certified redevelopment preserves the Grade II listed façade and Art Deco heritage while operating without single-use plastic.
It is also supported by rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient systems and more than 1,150 square metres of green roof space enhancing biodiversity and urban cooling.
The grand staircase has been restored, deconstructed and rebuilt by hand in Devon, and it now ascends through three floors to the glass-domed ceiling.
Spanning 2,300 square metres, Six Senses Spa London features the capital’s first hotel magnesium pool supporting muscular recovery and nervous system regulation. In addition, a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, 325-square-metre fitness centre, and dedicated yoga studios.
Further, there are thirteen wellness spaces, and six treatment rooms encompass cryotherapy, flotation, red-light therapies, a traditional hammam and a sensory suite. Its Biohack Recovery Lounge offers personalized protocols using PEMF therapy, sound loungers, compression boots, lymphatic suits and inversion tables.
An integrated Wellness Centre partnership with HUM2N longevity clinic delivers advanced blood diagnostics, IV nutrient therapy, hormone optimization and hyperbaric chamber therapy simulating altitude conditions.
On the other hand, the Alchemy Bar located above the lobby transforms locally foraged herbs into tinctures and tonics used across treatments and rituals. It extends the brand’s reconnection philosophy into urban context, offering space for restorative experiences.
As for the food, Executive Chef Eliano Crespi and Head Chef Jose Jara present vegetable-forward menus at Whiteley’s Kitchen, supported by a fermentation lab producing house-made ferments and preserves.
In a statement, Nick Yarnell, General Manager, emphasized: “We wanted Six Senses London to feel like a hotel that embraces you from the moment you arrive. Warm, genuine and instinctive, yet delivered with exacting standards and quiet precision.”
More importantly, the Earth Lab demonstrates practical conservation through repurposing workshops, with 0.5% of total hotel revenue directed through the Regenerative Impact Fund to support community-based environmental and social initiatives.
