Adina Apartment Hotels debuts in UK with heritage-infused properties in Cambridge, Glasgow

UK – TFE Hotels has launched Adina Apartment Hotels’ first UK venues, The Hobson Cambridge by Adina (56 rooms, opened 24 November 2025) and The Wellington Glasgow by Adina (98 rooms, opening 8 December 2025), revitalizing historic buildings for flexible, apartment-style stays in these academic and cultural hubs.

These openings elevate urban hospitality with preserved architecture and modern amenities.

The Hobson Cambridge: Historic Stables Reimagined

Occupying Grade II-listed Hobson House on St Andrew’s Street, once 17th-century stables of businessman Thomas Hobson (origin of “Hobson’s Choice”) and later Cambridge’s police/fire station—the property retains vaulted ceilings, timber beams, and period details.

Studio apartments feature kitchenettes, open living spaces for self-sufficient travelers, academics, or families.

Oz & Isle restaurant-bar serves shareable plates and cocktails honoring Australian roots. A private meeting room suits small events, blending leisure and business seamlessly.

The Wellington Glasgow: Sandstone Legacy Revived

Situated in 19th-century Wellington House at Wellington Street and Bath Street near George Square, this sandstone landmark offers 98 studios in configurations like Premier Rooms with sofa beds.

Each includes kitchenettes, dining/work areas, coffee machines, and steamers for extended stays.

Amenities encompass a gym, laundry, meeting space, and lobby café-bar for grab-and-go breakfasts or evening drinks, catering to urban explorers and professionals.

Strategic UK Expansion Milestone

These debuts mark TFE’s entry into Britain’s competitive market after European success in Germany, Austria, and beyond.

Targeting demand for independent, design-led accommodations, they attract long-haul Asia-Pacific/North American guests alongside locals, establishing Adina as a premium apartment hotel player.

TFE Hotels plans Adina London Liverpool Street for Q4 2026, repurposing a landmark Victorian building near the financial district with 200+ studios targeting business bleisure travelers.

Adina Edinburgh Haymarket follows in 2027, offering 150 rooms near conference venues and festivals, blending Scottish heritage with apartment flexibility.

These complement Cambridge/Glasgow debuts, leveraging TFE’s European expertise from 18 properties in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
