Both properties will undergo thoughtful enhancements aligning with The Luxury Collection’s global standards while preserving architectural character, cultural authenticity and longstanding heritage.

CAMBODIA – Marriott International has signed a landmark agreement with KS Hotels to introduce The Luxury Collection to Cambodia and Laos through the conversion of two storied boutique properties, marking Marriott’s entry into Laos.

Scheduled to debut in October 2026, La Résidence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang will become one of Laos’ most distinctive hilltop retreats within The Luxury Collection portfolio.

Set within expansive tropical gardens overlooking the UNESCO-protected old town, the 41-room property features traditional Lao craftsmanship, refined materials and private balconies framing surrounding hills.

Culinary plans include La Brasserie de la Résidence, bringing together classic French bistro cuisine with exploratory Lao menus.

On the other hand, La Résidence Angkor in Siem Reap, is scheduled to debut in October 2027. Located along the Siem Reap River at the gateway to Angkor Archaeological Park, the 59-room property includes 14 suites enriched with refined classical Cambodian design elements.

It also has three exclusive residences that feature private outdoor pools, while dining spans alfresco elegance at La Brasserie de La Résidence to Khmer Funk, a street-accessed eatery buzzing with Mekong regional flavours.

Both properties will undergo thoughtful enhancements aligning with The Luxury Collection’s global standards while preserving architectural character, cultural authenticity and longstanding heritage.

Rajeev Menon, President for Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, described the signing as “a defining milestone for Marriott International, as it represents the company’s debut hotel in Laos and the entry of The Luxury Collection in two inspiring, culturally rich destinations.”

Anthony Lark, Executive Director of HMD Asia, noted the collaboration delivers “a world-class brand experience that never loses sight of what our owners value most: individuality, service excellence and sustained asset performance.

As members of The Luxury Collection and part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, both hotels will offer curated Destination Discovery experiences connecting guests with the cultural, artistic and historical heritage of Laos and Cambodia.

For regional investors, the conversions demonstrate how heritage assets can be repositioned within global luxury portfolios while maintaining the authentic character that defines truly distinctive hospitality experiences in Southeast Asia’s most treasured destinations.
