SAUDI ARABIA- The Radisson Hotel Madinah has officially been opened in Saudi Arabia to strengthen pilgrim accommodation and accelerate tourism growth in the Kingdom’s spiritual capital.
The hospitality sector in Madinah has taken another significant step forward with the opening of the 165-room Radisson Hotel Madinah, a new four-star property designed to serve the city’s growing influx of religious and business travelers.
The opening ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, signifying the project’s strategic importance to Saudi Arabia’s national tourism ambitions.
Backed by the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), the hotel reflects the government’s continued commitment to enabling high-quality hospitality developments that enhance visitor experiences.
Al-Khateeb who is also the Chairman of TDF, noted that expanding accommodation capacity in key religious destinations like Madinah is essential to supporting sustainable tourism growth while elevating service standards across the Kingdom.
Strategically located next to the historic Qiba Mosque, the hotel sits just 12 minutes from the revered Prophet’s Mosque and approximately 20 minutes from Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
This prime location positions the property to capture steady demand from millions of pilgrims visiting the city each year, while also catering to corporate and group travel.
The hotel covers more than 2,300 square metres with 165 modern guest rooms alongside a restaurant, dedicated meeting and event spaces, and sports facilities.
According to TDF CEO Qusai Al-Fakhri, the new Radisson property strengthens Madinah’s hospitality ecosystem and improves its readiness to welcome increasing visitor volumes. He emphasized that the city remains a vital religious and cultural hub, and continued investment in hotel infrastructure is key to sustaining its long-term tourism potential.
The hotel also contributes to local economic development by creating jobs, stimulating supply chains, and supporting surrounding businesses. It forms part of TDF’s broader investment portfolio, which has already supported over 130 tourism projects in Madinah, contributing more than SAR1.5 billion and adding over 2,100 hotel rooms.
As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 tourism goals, the opening of Radisson Hotel Madinah signals growing investor confidence and reinforces the city’s position as one of the Middle East’s most important and rapidly evolving hospitality destinations.
