GERMANY – The Dean has officially made its first international debut with the opening of The Dean Berlin as it plans to expand beyond its home market of Ireland.
The 81-room property was launched on 14th February 2026 in the rich cultural district of Charlottenburg. The opening is very significant to the brand as it represents a major international milestone.
The Dean is well known for its signature blend of design, culture and community-driven hospitality. Charlottenburg was ideal for this project as it is known for its strong artistic heritage that provided a fitting backdrop for The Dean’s bold and expressive identity.
The building, which dates to the 19th century, was carefully re-imagined by designer Rachael Gowdridge. She preserved the original architectural features such as mosaic flooring, timber detailing and traditional wall finishes while adding some modern touches including sculptural lighting, bold colour schemes and furniture.

Guestrooms reflect this fusion of old and new, offering thoughtfully designed interiors with layered textiles, restored original features and custom-made furnishings.
Accommodation ranges from compact Cozy rooms and Doubles to more spacious Suites and Balcony Rooms. Bathrooms maintain original tilework while incorporating modern amenities developed in partnership with fragrance house DS & Durga, enhancing the sensory guest experience.
Benedict is an all-day bakery, restaurant and bar designed to serve both guests and residents. The hotel focuses on creating a vibrant social hub within the community by offering breakfast, brunch and evening cocktails.
The hotel has incorporated an art collection throughout the property developed by curator Thom Oosterhof. Guest areas and corridors have been decorated by the curated art pieces of the German-based artists marking the hotel’s strong cultural connection to its surroundings.
With rates starting from US$159.69 (€135) per night, the hotel welcomes guests from the region and beyond to experience comfort and make memorable experiences.
The property seeks to become a recognized international hospitality brand where comfort is not out of reach, the culture of the region shapes its rhythm and community engagement is a priority.
