EGYPT – Golden Pillars Development has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Rotana Hotels to manage and operate its upcoming Swar Hotel in Shorouk City, marking the developer’s first hospitality venture in the area.
Located less than 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport, this mixed-use project combines hotel and commercial components and is designed to serve the growing number of business and leisure travelers flocking to Egypt’s tourism hotspots.

The Swar Hotel’s proximity to Cairo International Airport positions it as an ideal choice for travelers seeking convenience without sacrificing luxury.

Golden Pillars Chairman Magdy Saad emphasized that partnering with a management company of Rotana’s caliber will help deliver the highest levels of operational efficiency and guest services, increasing the project’s overall market value .
Rotana’s Growing Regional Footprint
Rotana, which operates in more than 14 countries with nearly 22,000 rooms across 80 hotels, sees Egypt as a key growth market.
The group plans to expand its portfolio to 28,000 rooms across 120 hotels within the next four years, and the Swar Hotel agreement represents a significant piece of that ambition.
Makram El Zyr, Rotana’s Corporate VP for Development, noted that the decision to manage Swar Hotel followed a comprehensive feasibility study highlighting the project’s strong assets and prime location, calling it “a valuable addition to Rotana’s portfolio in the Egyptian market”.
A Mixed-Use Vision for a Growing City
Swar Hotel is designed as an integrated destination, combining hotel services with commercial spaces that complement each other to create a unique investment and operational experience.
Ayman Mohamed, CEO of Golden Pillars, explained that the project’s location was carefully selected to become a distinctive landmark within Shorouk City.
For business travelers, the hotel aims to offer tailored services with medium- and long-term corporate agreements, while leisure guests will enjoy easy access to Cairo’s iconic sights, from the Giza Pyramids to the Grand Egyptian Museum.
