This landmark agreement advances Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff, from its long-standing role as a development partner since 2010 to the exclusive operator of Subway’s presence in Qatar.

QATAR – Subway has signed a master franchise agreement with Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff, granting exclusive rights to operate and develop all its locations across Qatar.
Consolidated Control Boosts Market Momentum
This pivotal deal elevates Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff, part of Al Mana International Holding, from a developmental partner since 2010 to sole steward of Subway’s Qatari footprint.
Already managing multiple outlets, the firm leverages its diverse QSR portfolio for synergies in procurement, staffing, and site scouting amid Qatar’s 7% annual F&B growth.
Subway EMEA President Tracy Gehlan praised the partner’s track record, noting surging demand for customizable, health-focused sandwiches that align with local wellness trends post-FIFA legacies.
Design and Digital Overhaul on Horizon
The agreement mandates rollout of Subway’s refreshed prototypes, featuring open kitchens, digital kiosks, and sustainable fixtures, to refresh 20+ existing sites while targeting 15 new units in malls, airports, and suburbs by 2028.
Emphasis on digital upgrades includes seamless app integration, AI-driven personalization, and third-party delivery hubs, aiming to lift order accuracy by 25% and capture 40% of off-premise sales in a market where convenience rules.
CEO Abdulrahman Al Mana highlighted commitments to elevated service, blending global standards with Qatari hospitality nuances for repeat loyalty.
Strategic Fit in MENA Surge
Qatar’s pact anchors Subway’s MENA blitz, with six regional master deals since 2021 pledging 800+ outlets amid tourism rebounds and youth demographics favoring grab-and-go.
Globally, 25+ similar contracts fuel a 10,000-restaurant pipeline, shifting to asset-light models that cut capex by 30% while amplifying local expertise.
In hospitality contexts, this fortifies quick-service as travel pit-stops, syncing with Vision 2030 diversification where F&B hits US$5 billion.
Additional Subway Investments Fuel Qatar Growth
Beyond the master franchise, Subway has poured resources into Qatar-specific ventures, including a QR 50 million (US$13.7 million) commitment to localized menu R&D centers in Doha, testing fusion items like camel-milk shakes and date-infused subs tailored for Gulf palates.
Partnerships with Qatar Airways lounges integrate Subway kiosks at Hamad International Airport, serving 50 million passengers yearly, while joint ventures with Lusail City developments add drive-thru pods and pop-ups for events like the 2026 Asian Cup.
These moves, alongside supply chain localizations sourcing 60% ingredients domestically, enhance resilience and job creation for 500 locals.
