The camp will feature three Horizon Terrace Suites, nine Pool Villas, and a Presidential Villa that can combine to form a two-bedroom unit.

ZAMBIA – Anantara has announced the upcoming launch of its first safari tented camp, the Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp, in April 2026.
This prestigious camp will be built on elevated platforms above the Kafue River, offering direct access to Kafue National Park, Zambia’s largest and oldest wildlife reserve.
The design respects environmental concerns, with the camp raised to canopy height to protect seasonal water flows and vital wildlife corridors, preserving the natural ecosystem while providing a luxe safari experience.
The camp will feature three Horizon Terrace Suites, nine Pool Villas, and a Presidential Villa that can combine to form a two-bedroom unit.
Guests will enjoy butler service, wellness facilities including a pool and gym, as well as riverfront dining experiences. Safari activities will include expert-guided game drives and serene river excursions by boat.
Located just a three-hour drive from Lusaka, or accessible via short flights from Livingstone, the camp offers exclusive, immersive encounters with Africa’s wildlife.
Pricing will start at US$6,190 per villa per night, rising to US$8,000 during high season.
Rates include meals, drinks, two daily game drives, and a 90-minute spa treatment per guest per stay, positioning this camp as an ultra-premium option in Zambia’s safari market.
This addition enhances Zambia’s upscale tourism offerings and aligns with growing global demand for high-end, environmentally responsible wilderness experiences.
Zambia has recently seen notable luxury safari investments enhancing its reputation as an exclusive and authentic destination in Africa.
Besides the upcoming Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp, key developments include the Matetsi Victoria Falls lodge, set within a 55,000-hectare private game reserve with a private airstrip, offering intimate and refined safari experiences.
Thorntree River Lodge blends eco-conscious design with luxury by providing river-facing suites and private plunge pools, catering to couples and honeymooners.
Other revered lodges like Tena Tena Camp and Puku Ridge Camp prioritize conservation and exclusivity, offering guests personalized game viewing with expert guides.
Zambia’s model focuses on low-density tourism, ensuring undisturbed wildlife encounters and sustainability practices such as solar power and rainwater harvesting.
These investments contribute to the country’s appeal as a high-end safari destination that balances luxury, adventure, and environmental stewardship.
