Bojangles is the seventh-largest chicken chain in the US by systemwide sales, recording nearly US$1.9 billion in revenue last year with an average unit volume of US$2.35 million.

USA – Hospitality management and investment firm Eyas Capital has acquired BOJ of WNC LLC, the largest franchise group within the Bojangles system.
The deal comprises a substantial portfolio of 120 Bojangles locations spread across six US states, a strategic move that significantly enhances Eyas Capital’s footprint in the quick-service restaurant sector.
BOJ of WNC operates primarily in Western North Carolina and is helmed by franchisee Jeff Rigsby, an industry veteran with decades of experience.
Rigsby’s team has been instrumental in growing the brand’s presence and operational efficiency in the Southeast, including expansions into markets like Columbus, Ohio, where they introduced streamlined breakfast options and boneless chicken offerings.
Timothy Foley, Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of Eyas Capital, described the acquisition as “truly an opportunity like no other.”
He expressed enthusiasm about bolstering the Eyas portfolio with Bojangles, a brand beloved in Western North Carolina and now poised for growth in new territories such as Central and Southwestern Ohio.
Foley highlighted the potential to attract new customers while deepening loyalty among existing fans through innovative brand evolutions.
Working alongside Foley is Partner, President, and COO John Kaufman, a seasoned multi-unit franchise operator with extensive leadership expertise.
Together, they will guide the integration of Bojangles into Eyas Capital’s growing hospitality portfolio.
Jose Armario, CEO of Bojangles, praised the milestone, noting the strong growth trajectory of the brand and its expanding reach.
He emphasized that Eyas Capital’s operational expertise and passion represent critical assets in supporting Bojangles’ ongoing expansion both in core regions and new markets.
The agreement includes a commitment from Eyas Capital to develop more than 40 new locations within existing BOJ of WNC territories and emerging markets like Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
This further underscores an aggressive growth strategy targeting increased brand awareness and market penetration.
Bojangles ranks as the seventh-largest chicken chain in the US by systemwide sales, generating nearly US$1.9 billion in revenue last year with an average unit volume of US$2.35 million.
The brand’s strategy focuses on extending its footprint beyond its Southeastern stronghold, making this acquisition pivotal for scaling operations.
With this acquisition, Eyas Capital continues building a diverse, multi-brand foodservice platform, complementing its commitments as a Burger King franchisee across North Carolina, while driving profitability and sales growth in established and new markets.
