Yum! Brands reshuffles executive leadership as Chris Turner prepares to step in CEO role on October 1

The changes are designed to strengthen Yum’s growth path while enhancing consumer engagement, digital innovation, and operational scale.

GLOBAL – Yum! Brands has announced a strategic reshuffle of its executive leadership ahead of Chris Turner stepping into the CEO role on October 1, succeeding the retiring David Gibbs.

These changes aim to reinforce Yum’s growth trajectory and sharpen the company’s focus on consumer engagement, digital innovation, and operational scale.

Sean Tresvant, currently CEO of Taco Bell, has been promoted to serve as Yum! Brands’ Chief Consumer Officer while retaining his Taco Bell leadership.

In this expanded role, Tresvant will drive consumer insights, increase brand relevance, and spark innovation across Yum’s portfolio of iconic brands.

He is credited with launching Taco Bell’s annual Live Mas Live event and reviving the popular Mexican Pizza, solidifying the brand’s cultural resonance.

Jim Dausch, formerly Pizza Hut’s global Chief Digital and Technology Officer, has been elevated to Yum! Brands’ Chief Digital and Technology Officer and President of Byte by Yum, the company’s proprietary integrated technology platform.

Dausch replaces Joe Park, who is departing Yum for a new career opportunity. His leadership is expected to accelerate Yum’s digital transformation and enhance franchisee success using AI-driven systems.

Ranjith Roy, formerly Chief Strategy Officer and Treasurer, takes over as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Turner.

Roy joined Yum in 2024 and brings a strong blend of strategic insight and financial expertise, with previous roles at Goldman Sachs and Goldbelly.

Turner praised Roy’s ability to navigate complex environments and deliver long-term value.

To further streamline operations, Yum plans to add a Chief Scale Officer, focused on maximizing franchisee returns, boosting unit economics, and lifting restaurant profitability.

This new role will also oversee supply chain, food safety, quality assurance, and franchise support functions, harnessing Yum’s vast scale of over 60,000 restaurants globally.

Turner’s appointment as CEO caps a period of bold innovation for Yum, including launching new concepts like Saucy by KFC, strengthening the Byte by Yum ecosystem, and achieving over $30 billion in digital sales last year.

Outgoing CEO Gibbs will continue advising through 2026 to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

This leadership refresh signals Yum’s commitment to evolving alongside consumer expectations and advancing technology, positioning the company for sustained global growth under Turner’s stewardship.
