Qatar Airways announces new flights to The Red Sea, expanding Saudi Arabia network to 12 destinations

The Red Sea destination gives travelers the chance to explore more than 90 untouched islands, dramatic canyons, ancient landscapes, and one of the world’s largest barrier reef systems.

QATAR/SAUDI ARABIA – Qatar Airways has announced the upcoming launch of operations to The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, beginning with three weekly flights starting October 21, 2025.

This new service marks The Red Sea as the airline’s 12th destination within the Kingdom.

Eng Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group CEO, emphasized the addition as a commitment to providing diverse destinations demanded by discerning global travelers.

He highlighted that The Red Sea offers enriching Middle Eastern experiences and noted the airline’s award-winning hub at Hamad International Airport as a gateway to these unique offerings.

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global Group, described the new route as a pivotal step toward establishing The Red Sea as a world-class luxury destination.

He emphasized ongoing hotel and attraction openings that will allow travelers to explore Saudi culture, luxury accommodations, and the destination’s sustainable regenerative tourism initiatives.

This route strengthens regional connectivity and is expected to boost travel from Asia and Europe to Saudi Arabia.

Qatar Airways stands as the only carrier linking The Red Sea to over 170 global destinations, enhancing access for tourists worldwide.

In addition to this route, Qatar Airways operates more than 130 weekly flights across Saudi Arabia, connecting passengers from six continents to the Kingdom’s remarkable destinations.

The airline’s designation as the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025 further reinforces its position as a market leader.

The Red Sea destination offers travelers access to over 90 pristine islands, rugged canyons, ancient landscapes, and one of the world’s largest barrier reef systems.

It appeals to those seeking wellness, adventure, historic exploration, and scenic escapes.

Currently, The Red Sea hosts five luxury hotels that cater to visitors. Shura Island, recognized as the heart of The Red Sea, is set to open its first of 11 resorts this year, alongside an 18-hole championship golf course, diverse dining and retail options, cultural programs, and exclusive experiences.

Qatar Airways’ inaugural flight to The Red Sea is scheduled for October 21, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the airline and Saudi Arabia’s expanding tourism industry.

This launch solidifies Qatar Airways’ commitment to connecting premium destinations and supporting the growth of luxury tourism in the Middle East.
