Minor Hotels’ Avani Hotels & Resorts to debut in India with Visakhapatnam Beachfront Resort

INDIA – Leading hotel brand Minor Hotels has announced the planned launch of its Avani brand in India with the upcoming Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort, featuring 117 rooms and 58 branded villas.

The new project marks a key milestone in the group’s plan to open 50 properties across India within the next 10 years.

Present at the signing were Puneet Dhawan, Head of Asia, Minor Hotels; Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels; Sh. Kandula Durgesh, Minister of Tourism, Andhra Pradesh; Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Tourism; and I.A. Raja Varma, Managing Director of Sunray Green Space Pvt Ltd.

Spread across 25.5 acres in Bhogapuram, the resort enjoys a prime location near the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport—slated to open in 2026—as well as National Highways 16 and 26.

Its strategic positioning makes it an attractive destination for both domestic and international travellers.

The resort will offer an upscale lifestyle experience with a range of amenities, including three distinct F&B outlets—an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a stylish bar.

Other highlights include a versatile banqueting hall, AvaniSpa, a large swimming pool, a beach bar, and an AvaniFit gym.

A nine-hole par-three golf course will also feature prominently, catering to both novice and seasoned golfers seeking a shorter, more relaxed playing experience.

The project is being developed by Sunray Green Space Pvt Ltd, a prominent real estate company based in Visakhapatnam.

Its founder and Managing Director, I.A. Raja Varma, has received several accolades from the Andhra Pradesh government for his contributions to sustainable tourism and eco-conscious development.

Dillip Rajakarier stated that the new project in Visakhapatnam will reflect the Avani brand’s blend of modern design, vibrant service, and elevated guest experiences.

He added that the group aims to bring its premium hospitality expertise to a market witnessing rapid growth in leisure tourism, IT zones, and the MICE segment.
