USA – Fast casual restaurant chain Just Salad has announced the launch of “Salad AI,” a new ordering feature that leverages personalized survey results to offer customized recommendations, enhancing digital customer engagement.
Salad AI serves as a personalized recipe assistant, providing customized salad suggestions based on users’ dietary habits, lifestyle, and taste preferences.
Designed to simplify menu selection and reduce decision fatigue, the digital tool aims to create a seamless ordering experience for new customers while also introducing unique flavor combinations to existing Just Salad patrons.
Aligned with Just Salad’s mission to encourage customers to “Eat with Purpose,” Salad AI enhances the dining experience by tailoring recommendations to individual needs.
The company stated that this technology moves beyond standard menu suggestions by considering customers’ specific nutritional objectives and eating patterns.
Just Salad’s Founder & CEO, Nick Kenner, expressed confidence that this innovation would strengthen the brand’s relationship with its guests.
The AI-driven system operates through a short survey available on the Just Salad app, which gathers insights across three categories: lifestyle choices, dietary goals, and flavor preferences.
Based on the responses, the tool generates four personalized salad recommendations, each complete with a unique name, curated ingredients, nutritional details, and a suggested dressing.
Kenner emphasized that Salad AI functions as more than a simple recommendation tool, describing it as a companion that adapts to evolving tastes and dietary needs.
By utilizing artificial intelligence, the company aims to enhance customer engagement while boosting retention and acquisition through personalized menu offerings.
Salad AI is now accessible via the Just Salad mobile app. As the company continues its expansion, it reiterated its commitment to making healthy and sustainable eating more convenient and enjoyable.
Since its founding in 2006, Just Salad has grown to over 90 locations across multiple U.S. states, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
The company has also launched various sustainability initiatives in recent years, such as introducing the world’s largest restaurant-based reusable program, implementing carbon labeling on its menu, and offering a dedicated Climatarian category.
Additionally, Just Salad has collaborated with the food surplus app Too Good To Go, preventing thousands of meals from being wasted.
In 2023, the company earned B Corp Certification, signifying adherence to rigorous standards of social and environmental responsibility. Just Salad described the certification process as requiring extensive cross-departmental collaboration to collect data and evaluate every aspect of its operations.
