NEW ZEALAND – Marriott International has signed an agreement with PHC Queenstown Limited to debut the first St. Regis property in New Zealand, slated to open in late 2027 on a prominent corner site offering views of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables mountain range.
For over a century, St. Regis has defined luxury through its legendary butler service, offering guests anticipatory, personalized care. This hallmark experience transforms hotel stays into bespoke journeys where guest preferences are understood and realized before being expressed.
The property will feature sophisticated venues including The Drawing Room, The St. Regis Bar, an all-day dining destination, and dedicated event spaces. The St. Regis Spa will offer hydrothermal facilities and a relaxation lounge, complemented by an indoor heated pool and fitness center.
Richard Crawford, Vice President of Hotel Development for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, stated: “Securing a luxury presence in Queenstown has been a strategic priority for Marriott, and we’re thrilled to soon establish the iconic St. Regis brand in such an exceptional destination”.

The St. Regis Queenstown joins Marriott’s growing pipeline in the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region, representing the company’s third signing for the brand in this zone alongside St. Regis Gold Coast Resort and St. Regis Bora Bora.
The new-built hotel will occupy a prime central location designed to maximize panoramic views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu creating spaces where indoor luxury meets outdoor majesty.
In a statement, Prakash Pandey, Managing Director of PHC, emphasized: “The St. Regis Queenstown will set a new benchmark in the hospitality sector within New Zealand, and we are delighted to be able to showcase the very best of New Zealand to both domestic and international guests”.
