UAE – Etihad Airways has resumed a limited commercial flight schedule from March 6, 2026, operating between Abu Dhabi and 25 key destinations following extensive safety and security assessments conducted in coordination with relevant authorities.
The carefully curated list spans critical markets including London Heathrow, New York JFK, Toronto, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan Malpensa, Rome and Zurich in the West, alongside Moscow Sheremetyevo.
As for the Asian connections, it will include major Indian cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai, plus Bangkok, Phuket, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Seoul Incheon, Male and Jakarta.
On the other hand, regional routes include Jeddah, Riyadh and Cairo.
The selection reveals strategic emphasis on markets with strong economic and diaspora ties to the UAE with India’s continued prominence reflecting the nation’s position as a vital trade partner and source of travel demand.
European capitals indicate sustained corporate connectivity requirements despite ongoing tensions while the Southeast Asian destinations point to growing leisure and business corridors.
Business opportunities have emerged from Etihad’s selective global connectivity plan as the airline is accommodating guests with previous bookings as priority while making tickets available for sale on etihad.com
However, all services remain subject to operational approvals and may be adjusted depending on regional airspace conditions, with all other scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remaining suspended.
Affected guests will receive direct communication confirming flight status and available options. Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, with original travel dates up to March 21 may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights until May 15, or request refunds through etihad.com or travel agents.
