FRANCE – Marriott International has appointed Henri Michel as General Manager of the Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées Hotel, placing a 25-year company veteran at the helm of the landmark property.

Michel’s hospitality journey began in a three-year hotel apprenticeship in Germany, where he learned the discipline of service from the ground up.

After honing his craft across Food & Beverage and Front Office operations in London, he joined Marriott International in 2000, launching a quarter-century career that would span Sales, Marketing, Event Management and General Management across two countries.

Michel led the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott Paris Gare de Lyon, steering the property from construction through operational maturity.

Henri brings the operational discipline, commercial strength and people-first leadership required to elevate this flagship following its extraordinary renovation,” said Robert Juntke, Regional Vice President for Western Europe, Premium & Select at Marriott International.

The timing proves impeccable as the Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées has just emerged from an extensive redesign by award-winning London studio Muza Lab.

Beyond the physical transformation, Michel’s appointment signals Marriott’s commitment to leadership continuity during pivotal moments.

Michel is a graduate of ESSEC Business School with a master’s degree in international Operational Management.

Upon his appointment, Michel said, “It is a privilege to join the Paris Marriott Champs-Elysees at such a transformational moment.

This renewal pays tribute to the soul of Paris. Together with our talented teams, we will craft stays that are as inspiring as they are impeccably delivered,” he added.

Michel’s appointment offers a masterclass in leadership succession. Properties undergoing significant repositioning require leaders who understand brand DNA while possessing the operational credentials to execute complex visions.

With renovation complete and seasoned leadership in place, the Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées enters its next chapter poised to capture both the imagination of luxury travelers and the confidence of owners seeking sustained performance from iconic assets.
