ENVI Al Shafa opened in Taif to advance Saudi Arabia’s US$6.9B wellness tourism vision

The high-altitude luxury retreat also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s mountain tourism offering, expands ENVI Lodges’ footprint in the Kingdom, and introduces a new model of wellness-driven hospitality in the region.

SAUDI ARABIA- ENVI Lodges has unveiled ENVI Al Shafa, a high-altitude luxury lodge in the mountain region of Taif, reinforcing the country’s ambition to build a SAR 26 billion (US$6.9 billion) wellness tourism market by 2030.

ENVI Al Shafa introduces a rare hospitality experience in Saudi Arabia sat more than 2,000 meters above sea level.

For travelers, it delivers a destination that combines Alpine-inspired luxury with authentic Saudi mountain heritage. For ENVI Lodges, it represents a bold expansion into experiential and wellness-focused hospitality.

The high-altitude luxury retreat also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s mountain tourism offering, expands ENVI Lodges’ footprint in the Kingdom, and introduces a new model of wellness-driven hospitality in the region.

The lodge features 35 private villas, each designed to blend into the surrounding landscape while offering privacy, comfort, and uninterrupted views of the mountains.

At its heart, is a central lounge inspired by Alpine retreats that creates a warm communal space with natural stone, heavy timber finishes, and inviting gathering areas.

However, the true distinction of ENVI Al Shafa lies in its wellness-first approach.

The property has been designed as a complete wellness ecosystem, anchored by a two-story wellness center offering programs tailored to all age groups, from mindfulness and creative activities for younger guests to advanced longevity and restorative therapies for older visitors.

Complementing this is the ENVI Garden, a meditative green space that supplies herbs for both culinary and spa experiences, reinforcing the connection between nature and wellbeing.

Dining also reflects this philosophy. The lodge’s signature restaurant features an open-flame grill concept using locally sourced ingredients from Taif’s agricultural region, while an interactive cooking studio allows guests to engage directly with farm-to-table culinary traditions.

The lodge is strategically located within the reach of Jeddah and Mecca, and supported by the expansion of Taif International Airport, attracting both domestic and international wellness travelers.

The opening not only strengthens ENVI Lodges’ presence in Saudi Arabia but also signals a broader shift in the regional hospitality sector, where wellness, sustainability, and nature-integrated luxury are becoming central to long-term tourism growth
