EGYPT – SSP Group, a global leader in travel foodservice, has successfully renewed and significantly expanded its concession contracts at three major Egyptian gateways: Sharm el-Sheikh International, Aswan International, and Abu Simbel Airport.
The new agreement, covering 18 outlets in total, offers a tasty mix of global favorites and SSP’s own brands to serve over ten million passengers a year with a much-needed dash of flavor.
Travelers passing through Egypt’s key airports have more delicious options on the menu!
Serving Up a Feast in Prime Tourist Destinations
This expansion really helps SSP cement its role as a major player in Egypt’s bustling tourism corridors.
The heart of the deal is at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, which welcomes around nine million travelers annually.
Here, SSP will operate a whopping 15 outlets across both terminals.
The reach extends with two units at Aswan International Airport and one at Abu Simbel Airport, the gateway for visitors to the magnificent temples.
Hungry passengers can enjoy a familiar and varied selection, from global names like KFC, Burger King, and Costa Coffee to SSP’s own popular concepts like Ritazza and Panopolis.
Perfectly Timed with a Recipe for Travel Growth
This renewed partnership arrives just as Egypt’s aviation sector is really taking off.
Passenger numbers at Cairo International Airport grew by 6.8% in 2025, while regional airports saw an impressive 22.3% surge in traffic. SSP EEME CEO George Antoniou noted the deal aligns perfectly with the company’s focus on higher-growth markets, highlighting Egypt’s ongoing strategic importance.
This passenger boom creates the ideal setting for SSP’s model, where travelers on the go consistently seek reliable, quality food and drink options.
A Winning Recipe for Traveler Satisfaction
This move is a key ingredient in SSP’s continued investment in Egypt, building on recent openings like a KFC in Cairo and Hurghada, with another planned for Sharm El-Sheikh.
For Egypt’s tourism sector, a strong and diverse foodservice offering is essential, it improves the passenger experience, boosts airport revenue, and leaves a positive, lasting impression.
By extending its partnership, SSP helps ensure these vital tourist entry points are supported by a dependable and appealing culinary ecosystem, making every journey more enjoyable and supporting the country’s growing tourism success.
