By initiating visas in early February, authorities aim to improve travel planning for pilgrims and allow more time for coordination with Hajj affairs offices and service providers globally.

SAUDI ARABIA – The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has commenced visa issuance for the 2026 Hajj season, starting the process approximately four months ahead of the rituals.
This accelerated timeline is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance service readiness and pilgrim comfort, with the ministry reporting that 750,000 pilgrims have already registered and contracts covering 100% of services for international pilgrims have been finalized.
Proactive Planning for a Major Global Hospitality Event
The early launch of visa processing is a key organizational measure aimed at streamlining the massive logistical operation required for one of the world’s largest annual gatherings.
By initiating visas in early February, authorities aim to improve travel planning for pilgrims and allow more time for coordination with Hajj affairs offices and service providers globally.
The Ministry confirmed that all accommodation contracts in Makkah have been secured through the centralized Nusk platform, and 485 camps have been allocated at the holy sites for international pilgrims, with 73 Hajj affairs offices completing their basic contractual arrangements.
A Testament to Vision 2030’s Service Transformation
This proactive approach directly supports the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the pilgrim experience and increase capacity.
The advanced completion of service contracts for transportation, accommodation, and facilities at the holy sites is designed to ensure operational smoothness and prevent challenges during the peak season.
The reported registration of 750,000 pilgrims to date, with 30,000 having already booked complete packages directly from their home countries, indicates strong early demand and the effectiveness of digital platforms like Nusk in managing the complex pilgrimage ecosystem.
Solidifying Saudi Arabia’s Role as a Global Spiritual Hospitality Leader
The meticulous, early-stage preparations underscore Saudi Arabia’s commitment to positioning itself as a global leader in managing large-scale spiritual hospitality.
For the broader tourism and hospitality sector, the Hajj represents the ultimate exercise in mass logistics, crowd management, and service delivery.
The Kingdom’s investment in advanced planning, digital infrastructure, and international coordination not only aims to provide a more comfortable and secure experience for millions of pilgrims but also reinforces its capability to host mega-events, enhancing its reputation on the world stage and supporting ancillary economic activity across the transportation, accommodation, and F&B sectors.
