Tourvest announces multi-continent acquisition spree to dominate experiential travel

The company’s strategy involves a trio of targeted investment approaches: bolt-on expansions within Africa, a transformative acquisition in Europe, and an incubator investment in the Caribbean.

GLOBAL – Tourvest Destination Management has launched a strategic series of acquisitions across three continents to broaden its geographic footprint and deepen its expertise in complex, experiential travel.

The multi-year growth initiative spans Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, targeting both established and emerging destinations.

Strategic Expansion Across Key Regions

The company’s strategy involves a trio of targeted investment approaches: bolt-on expansions within Africa, a transformative acquisition in Europe, and an incubator investment in the Caribbean.

These moves are designed to increase market coverage, expand the customer base, and solidify Tourvest’s capability to operate in destinations that require deep local knowledge and specialist operational expertise.

CEO Martin Wiest stated that these acquisitions strengthen their ability to navigate an increasingly complex travel landscape by balancing technology with indispensable local insight.

Europe: Capturing the Luxury and Incentive Segment

In Europe, Tourvest has acquired Life Experiences in Majorca, a move that significantly bolsters its portfolio in the high-end incentive and luxury travel services segment.

This investment provides critical capabilities and a reputable brand to support broader geographic growth across the continent, catering to a discerning clientele seeking curated, premium experiences.

Caribbean: A Foothold in Cruise Tourism

The company is making its initial foray into the Caribbean through an incubator investment in Antigua, effective from March 1, 2026.

This venture will focus exclusively on cruise ship handling and shore excursions, providing access to one of the region’s fastest-growing tourism segments.

The platform is expected to create opportunities for expansion into additional ports and complementary services in retail and activity-based operations.

Africa: Deepening Roots in Complex Destinations

Tourvest continues to reinforce its core African operations. Its Sense of Africa brand is expanding within Rwanda and will soon establish a new presence in Zambia.

Concurrently, strategic investments in Angola underscore the company’s focused strategy on complex, underdeveloped destinations where authentic, logistically challenging experiences rely entirely on unparalleled local knowledge and operational grit.

This approach turns inherent destination complexity into a sustainable competitive advantage.

Sports Travel and Distribution Synergies

Further diversifying its experiential portfolio, an investment in Rugby Travel Ireland serves a dual purpose.

It enhances Tourvest’s specialized sports travel operations, a high-demand niche, while also establishing a base to broaden the distribution of African leisure travel offerings within the Irish and European markets, particularly around major sporting events.

This coordinated global push reflects Tourvest’s conviction that the travel market is bifurcating into high-volume commoditized trips and a rapidly growing experiential segment.

By acquiring and integrating companies with deep local expertise, Tourvest is positioning itself as a dominant, resilient player capable of delivering the meaningful, un-replicable experiences that modern travelers increasingly seek, from the shores of the Caribbean to the heart of Africa.
