Arrivals have grown across multiple regions, with Europe up 13%, Africa 22%, Asia 23%, and Oceania seeing a remarkable 94% surge.

SEYCHELLES – By Week 47 of 2025, Seychelles welcomed over 354,000 arrivals, marking a 12% increase compared to the same period last year and already exceeding the total visitor count of 2024.
This growth reflects a resilient tourism rebound, with Week 47 alone accounting for 7,880 visitors, nearly half of the pre-pandemic weekly averages, highlighting the destination’s sustained appeal and steady recovery momentum.
The rise in arrivals has been geographically diverse, with Europe leading at a 13% increase, complemented by substantial growth in Africa (22%), Asia (23%), and Oceania, where arrivals surged an impressive 94%.
The Americas also contributed a modest 5% growth. Germany emerges as the top source market with 49,310 visitors, followed by significant numbers from France, Russia, Italy, and the UK.
Within regional markets, the UAE and South Africa lead visitor contributions.
This broad-based growth stems from tightly coordinated public and private sector efforts, including targeted marketing campaigns, improved airline connections, and enhanced traveler experiences.
Forward bookings suggest the upward trend will continue into the closing weeks of 2025.
The robust visitor influx is providing tangible economic benefits across Seychelles’ hospitality, retail, transport, and cultural sectors, while promoting eco-friendly and sustainable tourism practices.
By diversifying its visitor base and enhancing service quality, Seychelles solidifies its position as a premier luxury island destination globally.
Seychelles has significantly increased its tourism investments to match the rising influx of visitors, demonstrating a strategic commitment to sustaining and boosting its tourism sector’s growth.
Recent capital injections have focused on expanding and upgrading core infrastructure, including renovating key airports, enhancing port facilities, and improving road connectivity between major islands and tourist hubs.
These upgrades aim to provide smoother and more efficient access for travelers, contributing directly to a better visitor experience.
In addition to physical infrastructure, Seychelles has directed funds toward developing eco-friendly resorts and sustainable tourism initiatives.
Projects like the expansion of the Vallee de Mai nature reserve and promotion of marine conservation programs attract eco-conscious tourists, matching global trends in responsible travel.
The government also supports local entrepreneurs in hospitality through training programs and public-private partnerships, emphasizing quality service that sustains repeat visitation.
Furthermore, Seychelles has bolstered its marketing efforts targeting emerging markets such as Asia and the Middle East, leveraging digital platforms and collaborations with airline partners to diversify its tourist base.
These comprehensive investments align strongly with the observed 12% year-on-year tourism growth, underscoring a well-rounded approach to meeting increasing demand while preserving the islands’ natural allure and elevating the overall tourism ecosystem.
