SAUDI ARABIA – Kerten Hospitality has announced the opening of its latest venture, Cloud 7 Al Murjan Island Resort in Dammam’s Eastern Province, marking a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s luxury hospitality sector.

Designed by renowned architect Zuhair Fayez Partnership, the resort is the first-of-its-kind with overwater chalets in the region.

Located on Al Murjan Island, the resort is part of an innovative, mixed-use development blending hospitality, leisure, entertainment, and wellness.

It aims to redefine coastal luxury by providing unique experiences rooted in regional culture and modern innovation.

Cloud 7 will feature 74 overwater chalets, designed to offer guests unparalleled views and privacy.

The resort will host Nyssa Beach, a women-only beach club offering a spa, wellness facilities, and curated social and workspaces.

This inclusive approach aims to empower women and promote wellness tourism in Dammam.

Marwan Al Qaydy, CEO of Koushan Real Estate Development, emphasized this project’s significance: “Al Murjan Island is a vibrant hub where hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle converge, setting new standards for premium coastal living in the Eastern Province.

He highlighted the partnership’s commitment to quality and innovation, aiming to deliver authentic, memorable experiences.

Marloes Knippenberg, CEO of Kerten Hospitality, remarked that Al Murjan Island symbolizes purposeful destination development aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Our collaboration with Koushan Real Estate reinforces our aim to bring creative ecosystems, culture, and community-focused hospitality to the Kingdom,” she added.

Kerten’s presence in Saudi Arabia has rapidly expanded, with flagship projects including AlUla’s heritage hotels, Jeddah’s urban residences, and heritage restoration ventures recognized globally.

Cloud 7 Al Murjan Island Resort further cements the company’s commitment to creating destinations that empower local communities and celebrate Saudi culture.

This growth coincides with Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism ambitions, supported by major projects such as The House Hotel in AlUla, which has received global acclaim for its innovative design and heritage focus.

Kerten’s proven ability to develop authentic, sustainable destinations makes it a vital player in the Kingdom’s evolving landscape.

The company’s on-ground teams work closely with local communities to embed cultural identity into each project. Cloud 7 Al Murjan Island Resort exemplifies this approach, blending luxury with community roots to foster meaningful experiences in Saudi Arabia’s coastal frontier.
