NIGERIA – Accor, a global hospitality leader, has signed a strategic agreement with John Williams Hotels & Resorts and Boulevard Hotel Group to introduce Mövenpick and Mövenpick Living in Abuja, Nigeria.
Scheduled to open in Q1 2026 in Abuja’s Central Business District, the development will feature 138 modern hotel rooms and 36 serviced apartments.
It will cater to both short-term travelers and long-stay expatriates and multinational employees seeking premium accommodation.
The property embodies Mövenpick’s Swiss heritage and vibrant spirit, offering four dining venues, a 665-square-metre grand ballroom, flexible meeting and conference spaces, a spa, fitness center, and an outdoor pool.
Strategically located on Constitution Avenue, the location provides direct access to the Three Arms Zone and is about 30 minutes from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, positioning the hotel as a destination for business travel, MICE events, and diplomatic missions in West Africa.
This partnership combines Accor’s global brand leadership, John Williams Hotels & Resorts’ development expertise, and Boulevard Hotel Group’s operational excellence.
It also emphasizes responsible tourism, prioritizing local employment and inclusive supply chain integration to bolster Nigeria’s growing hospitality ecosystem.
Accor currently operates four properties in Nigeria under its ibis, Novotel, and Mövenpick brands.
Across Africa, Accor has over 167 properties with more than 32,000 rooms and continues expanding in key gateway cities and emerging destinations.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts boasts a portfolio of over 130 hotels in more than 40 countries, with 90+ projects in the pipeline, marking this launch as a significant step in continuing growth within Africa.
Accor has stepped up its investments across West Africa, recently signing a master development agreement with UAE-based Mayan Properties to launch five hotels with over 1,100 rooms across key markets.
This includes projects like Novotel Nouakchott in Mauritania, a 154-room new build, and Mövenpick Moroni in Comoros, a 159-room conversion, with three more properties planned in strategic destinations.
These investments deepen Accor’s footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa, a region of rising tourism demand, supporting job creation and sustainable growth.
