The first phase will feature 16 country pavilions representing diverse international cultures, an open-air theater with a 10,000-person capacity, a floating restaurant on the lake, water and electronic games, and a variety of international cuisine outlets.

SAUDI ARABIA – The Eastern Province Mayoralty, in collaboration with a Thai investor, has announced the first phase of the Dammam Global City project, set to launch by the end of November 2025.

With an investment of SAR200 million (US$53.3 million), the overall project value will exceed SAR600 million (US$160 million) when fully completed.

This expansive development spans more than 600,000 square meters, including a 240,000 square meter artificial lake, the largest of its kind in the region.

According to Faisal Al-Zahrani, mayoralty spokesperson, the project is a strategic cornerstone designed to uplift the quality of life in the Eastern Province.

It aims to position the area as a premier tourist and economic destination, attracting visitors and investors from across Saudi Arabia and the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The project beautifully blends culture, entertainment, and commerce, offering a unique experience that enriches the area’s appeal.

The first phase will feature 16 country pavilions representing diverse international cultures, an open-air theater with a 10,000-person capacity, a floating restaurant on the lake, water and electronic games, and a variety of international cuisine outlets.

Strategically located between Dammam and Qatif near Abu Hadriyah Road, the site offers optimal accessibility and stunning Arabian Gulf views.

The Dammam Global City will serve as a vibrant cultural hub, promoting diversity while supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.

It sets a new standard for entertainment and tourism infrastructure, enhancing the Eastern Province’s status as a thriving, inclusive urban destination.

Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province has seen substantial tourism investments complementing the Dammam Global City project.

The Saudi Tourism Development Fund has approved 17 new projects valued at over SAR12.7 billion (US$3.38 billion), adding more than 2,200 hotel rooms, with an additional 10 projects worth SAR10.6 billion (US$2.82 billion) to add 1,400 rooms.

These initiatives enhance the region’s tourism infrastructure and support Vision 2030 goals.

Significant developments include expansions in Al Khobar, with new luxury resorts, smart city ventures, waterfront malls, and cultural attractions.

The region’s extensive Arabian Gulf coastline fuels beach tourism, while its cultural heritage draws visitors seeking authentic experiences. The fund’s initiatives also lower government fees to encourage investment.

Collectively, these projects are transforming the Eastern Province into a premier hospitality hub, fostering economic growth and improving residents’ quality of life by creating jobs and elevating tourism offerings.
