UAE – Planet Ocean Underwater Hotels has launched a major community engagement initiative in the UAE, inviting organizations and individuals to join its Global Alliance Collaborator (GAC) programme.
This effort aligns with the company’s mission to build eco-luxury underwater hotels at 33 global destinations while fostering international collaboration and marine conservation.
The GAC programme connects participants from 50 US states with 50 partner nations, promoting cross-border cooperation in sustainable tourism.
In the UAE, the initiative supports national strategies like Dubai’s D33 Agenda and Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030, emphasizing innovation, economic diversification, and environmental stewardship.
Each underwater hotel features 26 guest suites situated approximately 30 feet below sea level, offering panoramic views of marine life through expansive acrylic windows.
The US Patent-approved design ensures structural integrity, modularity, and the ability to relocate units if needed, enhancing safety and operational flexibility.
Beyond tourism, the project integrates Biorock technology for coral reef restoration, actively enhancing marine biodiversity.
This approach aligns with global sustainability goals by combining luxury travel with ecological regeneration, turning resorts into hubs for environmental impact.
Tony Webb, founder of Planet Ocean, emphasized the dual mission: “We aim to protect fragile marine environments while creating opportunities for global collaboration.”
The company is directing resources toward reef restoration, ensuring that tourism directly benefits local ecosystems.
The UAE engagement effort encourages local organizations to promote participation in the GAC programme.
It highlights job creation in hotel and resort operations, offering workforce opportunities in a cutting-edge sector. Regional media groups are also invited to collaborate on awareness campaigns.
Eco-tourism is rapidly expanding across the UAE and the Middle East, driven by government initiatives and rising traveler demand.
The UAE has introduced eco-friendly desert safaris, mangrove kayaking, and conservation-focused experiences in reserves like Al Marmoom and Sir Bani Yas. Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City and Dubai’s sustainable urban planning exemplify regional leadership in green tourism.
With over 65% of international visitors engaging in eco-activities, the region is positioning itself as a global sustainability leader.
By merging eco-tourism with community involvement, Planet Ocean fosters a model where economic growth and environmental protection go hand in hand. The initiative exemplifies how innovative hospitality can drive sustainable development and global partnerships.
