The partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing quality tourism infrastructure, supporting the travel industry, and strengthening Africa’s position as a leading global tourism destination.

KENYA – The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and the African Tourism Board (ATB) have formalized a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating tourism growth and investment across Africa.
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to developing robust tourism infrastructure, strengthening the travel trade, and enhancing Africa’s position as a premier global tourism hub.
Central to this partnership is the upcoming African Tourism and Investment Forum (ATIF) 2025, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 1 to 3, 2025.
The Forum is anticipated to draw a wide international audience, bringing together more than 350 exhibitors and 5,000 tourism executives from diverse markets.
This platform will serve as a critical nexus for networking, business development, investment discussions, and knowledge sharing focused on the continent’s tourism potential.
The ATIF 2025 will run concurrently with the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, a flagship event that showcases Kenya’s rich tourism portfolio and diverse attractions.
MKTE 2025, held at the iconic Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum in Nairobi, is East Africa’s premier travel trade event, also running from October 1 to 3, 2025.
It will feature over 350 exhibitors and attract more than 5,000 tourism professionals globally, providing extensive opportunities for B2B meetings, educational seminars, and cultural immersion experiences.
Together, these linked events embody a dynamic strategy to promote sustainable tourism development, foster intra-African collaboration, and attract international investment.
They focus on critical themes including infrastructure development, digital innovation in tourism, environmental sustainability, and marketing Africa as a unified and compelling destination brand.
Through this partnership and the staged events, KTB and ATB aim to catalyze growth in the continent’s travel sector, leveraging Kenya’s strategic geographical position and well-established reputation as a gateway to African tourism.
The expected interaction of thousands of industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders is set to deepen partnerships, unlock new business opportunities, and elevate the continent’s profile on the global tourism stage.
This collaboration affirms a forward-looking vision to harness Africa’s vast cultural, natural, and economic assets in transforming the continent into a leading, diversified destination that draws both visitors and investors alike, contributing significantly to sustainable economic development.
