Suplyd raises US$2M in Pre-Series A to expand digital procurement for Egyptian restaurants

This capital infusion will fast-track Suplyd’s efforts to develop a robust infrastructure for restaurant operations and drive expansion into untapped areas within Egypt’s broad market.

EGYPT – Suplyd, the Cairo-based digital procurement platform serving restaurants, has successfully raised US$2 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing investors.

This capital injection will accelerate Suplyd’s mission to build a comprehensive infrastructure for restaurant operations and expand into unexplored regions across Egypt’s vast market.

Founded in 2022, Suplyd targets inefficiencies in Egypt’s US$10 billion HORECA supply chain by offering streamlined procurement solutions specifically for small and medium-sized restaurants.

By digitally connecting restaurants directly with suppliers and simplifying procurement workflows, Suplyd addresses longstanding challenges such as fragmented supply chains, unreliable deliveries, and a lack of transparency that have traditionally hindered growth in the sector.

Since completing a US$1.6 million pre-seed round in 2022, Suplyd has achieved nearly 20-fold growth in the number of restaurants served and the value of goods delivered.

Today, more than 5,000 restaurant customers benefit from Suplyd’s platform, which continuously rolls out new operational tools and services aimed at reducing backend complexity and enhancing operational efficiency for restaurant owners.

Suplyd’s Founder and CEO, Gohar Said, highlighted the company’s role in reshaping Egypt’s restaurant ecosystem: “What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants every day. We’ve faced challenges, adapted to change, and earned the trust of our customers, partners, and investors.

We didn’t just witness the industry’s digital transformation. We helped lead it,” he added.

This latest funding round reflects investor confidence in Suplyd’s vision and operational execution, a very interesting addition to the sector.

It demonstrates a collective belief in the necessity of digitizing the fragmented foodservice supply chain, especially within emerging markets like Egypt.

With enhanced resources, Suplyd plans to expand its footprint, improve technology offerings, and deepen penetration into underserved regions.

The company aims to remain a vital enabler for Egypt’s restaurant industry, creating value through convenience, efficiency, and reliability.

Suplyd’s growth story exemplifies the power of digital innovation in transforming traditional sectors, empowering small and medium foodservice operators to thrive in a competitive, evolving marketplace.
