The software streamlines hotel operations with integrated modules for channel management, booking engines, event management, revenue reporting, and guest CRM.

SOUTH AFRICA – Hospitality technology firm Hop Software has announced it is expanding its global footprint by opening a new office in Cape Town, South Africa.
Originally based in Chester with a second location in Edinburgh, this move aims to support growth within the region’s burgeoning tourism and hotel sectors.
Hop Software is known for its cloud-based Property Management System (PMS), used by over 225 hotels internationally, managing more than 6,000 rooms.
The software simplifies hotel operations through integrated modules such as channel management, booking engines, event management, revenue reporting, and guest CRM.
Its user-friendly, cost-effective platform enables independent hotels and hotel groups alike to optimize bookings, guest experience, and administrative efficiency.
The decision to establish a South African base follows encouraging remarks from the region’s tourism organisation, which labelled hospitality a “sunrise sector with endless possibilities.”
South Africa’s focus on increasing visitor arrivals and stimulating domestic tourism aligns with Hop Software’s strategic goals.
The country anticipates opening over 300 hotels with more than 50,000 rooms during 2025 and 2026, reflecting significant growth potential for hospitality tech solutions.
Hop’s local team includes Business Development Manager Teboho Ntsiane and Onboarding and Support Executive Irshaad Mahomedm, key hires to spearhead regional client engagement and software implementation.
Their presence reinforces Hop’s commitment to tailored service delivery and prompt client support in the local market.
Co-directors Jon Erasmus and Ronald Tweedie have a personal connection to South Africa, originating from Durban and Johannesburg, respectively.
This expansion holds particular significance for them, supporting both professional ambitions and community ties.
Erasmus and his wife are also involved in regional philanthropic work through a children’s charity, underscoring their strong local commitment.
Through this Cape Town office, Hop Software aims to enhance responsiveness to African hospitality businesses, assist hotels in capturing rising travel demand, and contribute to the digital transformation of the sector.
The firm’s scalable cloud-based solutions address operational challenges while driving direct bookings and guest satisfaction.
This strategic move positions Hop Software to capitalize on South Africa’s dynamic tourism market and aligns with global trends of hotel technology adoption, boosting efficiency and competitiveness for properties of all sizes.
