This ambitious project marks a significant milestone in boosting tourism in the Dhofar Governorate, thanks to its strategic location and all-encompassing hospitality offerings.

OMAN – Oman has laid the foundation stone for a landmark integrated tourism complex in the southern Salalah province, with an estimated investment of RO 80 million (US$208 million).
This ambitious project is considered a major milestone for tourism development in Dhofar Governorate due to its strategic location and comprehensive hospitality facilities.
The integrated complex is being implemented through a partnership between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Al-Wathba Hospitality Company, based on an agreement signed in February 2025.
The initiative aligns with Oman’s broader economic diversification strategy, aiming to boost tourism infrastructure and support sustainable growth in the region.
The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion within 30 months.
It includes the construction of a five-star hotel featuring 124 guest units to offer premium accommodation.
It will also include a fully equipped marina with restaurants and cafes, creating a vibrant waterfront destination for visitors and yacht owners alike.
Additional facilities planned in the initial phase comprise a beach club and a health club, providing recreational and wellness services to enhance the visitor experience.
The project will also feature a main entrance gate marking the gateway to the expansive complex, representing a new tourism landmark for Salalah.
Azzan Qasim al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, emphasized the project’s importance in creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities.
He highlighted the role of the development in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) while offering training and qualification programs for Omani nationals in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Khalid Abdullah al Abri, Director General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, described the project as one of the most prominent tourism investments in the region.
He noted the scale of the marina, which will be among Oman’s largest, and the fully integrated beachfront, designed to elevate Dhofar’s appeal as a year-round tourism destination.
The development is expected to boost visitor numbers, stimulate local economic activity, and enhance Oman’s position as a preferred destination for international tourists.
It complements ongoing government efforts to expand tourism markets and improve air connectivity to Salalah.
This integrated tourism complex stands as a testament to Oman’s commitment to enriching its tourism offerings, fostering sustainable growth, and advancing Vision 2040’s agenda for economic diversification centered on natural and cultural assets.
