Through facility upgrades and expansion into Gqeberha, the group seeks to strengthen its market footprint and deliver consistent hospitality experiences throughout South Africa.

SOUTH AFRICA – The Capital Hotels, Apartments and Resorts has announced significant expansions at existing properties while preparing to launch its first hotel in the Eastern Cape, reinforcing its broader national growth strategy.

This move highlights the group’s commitment to extending its footprint into new markets and enhancing guest offerings across South Africa’s major cities.

At the Capital Trilogy in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria, a new wing comprising premium rooms and serviced apartments was recently added, providing upscale accommodation options to meet growing demand in this bustling business and residential precinct.

The development complements the group’s existing portfolio by delivering modern, flexible living spaces tailored for both short- and long-term stays.

In Durban, the Capital Pearls Shore property completed its expansion in May 2025, enhancing room capacity and upgrading amenities to cater to the city’s leisure and business travelers.

This successful expansion supports increased tourism and corporate activity in one of South Africa’s key coastal hubs.

Looking ahead, the group is set to debut a new hotel within the vibrant Boardwalk precinct in Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth.

Slated to open in 2026, this property will feature fully equipped apartments, versatile conference facilities, and a variety of accommodation options designed to serve both business visitors and leisure guests.

The location near popular shopping and entertainment venues is expected to attract domestic and international travelers.

This strategic entry into the Eastern Cape is a significant milestone for The Capital Hotels, Apartments and Resorts, marking its expansion beyond traditional strongholds.

The new hotel is envisioned as a modern destination combining comfort, convenience, and connectivity to support the region’s growing economic activity and tourism potential.

By investing in upgraded facilities and expanding into Gqeberha, the group aims to bolster its market presence and offer seamless hospitality experiences across South Africa.

These developments signal confidence in the country’s robust tourism outlook and evolving business travel trends.

With these projects, The Capital Hotels, Apartments and Resorts continues to strengthen its position as a leading player in South Africa’s hospitality sector, delivering tailored accommodation solutions that meet diverse guest needs while contributing to regional economic growth.
