Daily passenger volumes are averaging over 265,000 throughout this two-week period, with July 5 forecasted as the busiest day for both departures and transfer traffic.
UAE – Dubai International Airport (DXB) is currently experiencing a sustained period of peak operations, with more than 3.4 million passengers expected to travel through the airport between June 27 and July 9, 2025, according to official reports.
This ongoing surge marks one of the busiest travel seasons in recent years, driven by school holidays, the Islamic New Year public holiday on June 27, and strong outbound travel demand.
Daily passenger volumes are averaging over 265,000 throughout this two-week period, with July 5 forecasted as the busiest day for both departures and transfer traffic.
In response, Dubai Airports, in close coordination with its stakeholders including airlines and government authorities, has activated an integrated summer readiness plan to manage the influx efficiently and maintain safety standards.
The airport is implementing a comprehensive operational strategy involving real-time monitoring of passenger flows and airport activities, enabling predictive deployment of resources and staff to reduce congestion and wait times.
Enhanced guest support services, clear signage, and increased accessibility measures are also part of the plan to ensure a smooth experience for all travelers.
This summer surge is occurring amid ongoing regional airspace restrictions and geopolitical tensions that have caused some flight delays and cancellations across the network.
Despite these challenges, the oneDXB community is working around the clock to support passengers, maintain service continuity, and prioritize safety from check-in through to takeoff.
To assist travelers during this busy period, Dubai Airports and Emirates are recommending practical steps such as arriving no earlier than three hours before departure, using online check-in and self-service kiosks, and taking advantage of smart passport control gates available for children aged 12 and above.
Additionally, services like home check-in and baggage collection are being promoted to ease the airport experience.
Special attention is being given to People of Determination, with dedicated accessibility routes, discreet assistance for guests wearing Sunflower Lanyards, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.
