SAUDI ARABIA – The Ministry of Tourism has announced a significant milestone in Makkah’s hospitality sector, revealing that the number of licensed hospitality facilities operating in the city has surpassed 1,160 in the first quarter of 2025.
This figure represents a remarkable 54% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring the city’s rapid expansion in accommodation capacity ahead of the upcoming Hajj season.
This surge in licensed facilities reflects the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance Makkah’s readiness to welcome millions of pilgrims from around the world.

In parallel with licensing growth, the Ministry conducted more than 1,160 inspection and monitoring tours across hospitality establishments during the first quarter.
