THAILAND – Minor Hotels, a globally recognized hotel owner, operator, and investor with a portfolio spanning 57 countries, has announced significant senior leadership changes within its Anantara brand portfolio in northern Thailand.
Reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and regional growth, the luxury hospitality group has appointed Arnaud Béril as Cluster General Manager of both Anantara Chiang Mai Resort and Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort.
Simultaneously, Jean-Marc Pougnet has been promoted to General Manager at Anantara Golden Triangle, marking his first General Manager role with the company.

Northern Thailand, encompassing Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces, is a key focus for sustainable tourism and experiential travel-pillars central to Anantara’s hospitality philosophy.
The resorts under this cluster are flagship properties that blend luxury with cultural authenticity, appealing to discerning travelers seeking immersive and responsible tourism experiences.
Arnaud Béril, a French national and hospitality veteran, began his journey with Minor Hotels as an intern in 2010.
Over the years, he has held senior operational roles across multiple properties in Thailand, including Koh Phangan, Bangkok, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai.
Returning to Anantara Chiang Mai Resort-where he served as Food & Beverage Manager in 2015-Arnaud now oversees both northern Thailand resorts with a strategic vision.
Since joining Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort as Resort Manager in 2022, he was promoted to General Manager in 2023.
Under his leadership, the resort launched innovative guest experiences such as the Canopy Tree Top Dining Experience, Samsarn restaurant celebrating Thai, Lao, and Burmese culinary heritage, and the luxury Mekong Explorer Tents.
His achievements earned him the General Manager of the Year – Asia award at Minor Hotels’ 2024 Awards of Excellence.
Jean-Marc Pougnet brings extensive international experience across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Having joined Minor Hotels in 2018 as Food & Beverage Manager at Anantara Golden Triangle, he later managed Avani+ Khao Lak Resort before returning to northern Thailand.
His promotion to General Manager at Anantara Golden Triangle marks a significant career milestone and reflects Minor Hotels’ commitment to nurturing internal talent and leadership development.
