JLL’s Project & Development Services (P&DS) fit-out team is overseeing a comprehensive range of project management solutions for two major developments in Cairo, Lazoghly Complex and Moxy Cairo Downtown.
Their services span project planning, scheduling, and cost control, from concept design through to final fit-out.
Reliance Developments, the urban regeneration arm of Reliance Egypt, has partnered with JLL to repurpose the seven-building Lazoghly Complex into a mixed-use development.
The project will integrate hospitality, offices, co-working spaces, retail, dining, and edutainment facilities.
The goal is to revitalise ageing buildings while preserving their architectural heritage and enhancing performance. JLL’s role includes delivering efficient project execution and adaptive reuse solutions.
Simultaneously, Reliance Ventures, Reliance Egypt’s hospitality division, is developing Moxy Cairo Downtown, with JLL providing project and cost management support.
The hotel will offer 365 rooms, a fitness centre, vibrant social spaces, and a grab-and-go concept catering to modern travellers. Communal areas with plug-and-play options will reflect the brand’s emphasis on connectivity and sociability.
Ahmed Hemmat, Head of P&DS at JLL, said the Lazoghly project highlights the potential of adaptive reuse in preserving Cairo’s heritage while serving contemporary needs.
He expressed excitement about contributing to a space that respects its past while embracing modernity.
Magdi Kassabgui, Chairman and CEO of Reliance Egypt, noted that the redevelopment aligns with broader efforts to reimagine Downtown Cairo as a cultural and touristic hub.
He emphasised Reliance’s commitment to creating dynamic spaces that support sustainable urban growth and enrich the city’s character.
Ahmed Mostafa, Head of Fit-out Egypt at JLL, added that their experience with heritage buildings uniquely positions them to support the Moxy project.
He highlighted the team’s ability to maintain historical integrity while delivering a high-quality guest experience.
George Raafat, Head Project Manager at Reliance Developments, stated that the company is committed to preserving architectural identity while integrating modern, sustainable technologies.
He underlined the importance of local sourcing, energy efficiency, and smart building systems in delivering long-term value.
