Emaar Malls offers four-month rent waiver for F&B tenants affected by Dubai Fountain closure

Apart from this rent waiver, Emaar has also unveiled a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the visitor experience around the Dubai Fountain, even as the iconic attraction undergoes temporary closure.

UAE – Emaar Malls Management (LLC) has introduced a rent support initiative waiving terrace rent from June to September 2025 for F&B tenants at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, following the temporary closure of the Dubai Fountain.

Apart from this rent waiver, Emaar has also unveiled a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the visitor experience around the Dubai Fountain, even as the iconic attraction undergoes temporary closure.

Chief among these measures is the installation of 400 metres of advanced digital screens along the promenade, which will display dynamic visual content.

These screens are designed not only to animate the waterfront but also to support retailers in maintaining footfall and engagement during the transition.

The Lake and Fountain-facing terraces at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar have long been considered prime real estate for hospitality outlets, offering guests immersive views of the world-famous Dubai Fountain and a serene waterside atmosphere.

These elements have played a central role in drawing both residents and tourists, making the locations some of the most desirable in the city.

By introducing digital innovations and reaffirming its support to tenants, Emaar is proactively addressing changing market conditions while safeguarding the vitality of the area.

Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, emphasized the company’s commitment to its tenants during this period of change.

For years, Dubai Fountain and the surrounding lake have contributed significantly to the popularity of these destinations. As we move into a new chapter, this rent support reflects our commitment to long-term partnerships and to helping tenants navigate this transition with resilience and confidence,” he said.

Despite the temporary closure of the fountain, the terraces will continue to offer premier views, world-class dining, and an atmosphere that blends elegance with energy.

With the added dimension of interactive digital experiences, tenants are expected to maintain a compelling draw for visitors, ensuring the continued success of their operations.

Emaar Malls continues to champion sustainable growth across its retail communities, empowering tenants with innovative tools and support mechanisms to thrive in an evolving landscape.

As one of the region’s most influential developers, Emaar Properties PJSC has delivered over 118,400 residential units and operates a portfolio of revenue-generating assets including 38 hotels and 1.4 million sq. mtr. of retail space.

Its landmark destinations, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and Dubai Fountain, remain synonymous with excellence in urban development and lifestyle experiences.
