Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai names Abhishek Sachdev as new General Manager

INDIA – Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport has appointed Abhishek Sachdev as its new General Manager.

The new GM brings close to two decades of multifaceted industry experience, Abhishek Sachdev is set to lead Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport into its next phase of growth and reinvention.

Abhishek began his hospitality journey as a Management Trainee with ITC Hotels, later joining the pre-opening team at ITC Gardenia in Bangalore.

After earning his MBA in Hospitality Administration from the renowned École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, he broadened his professional scope by managing global fundraising and special projects for the Indian Head Injury Foundation (IHIF).

Returning to hospitality, he took on leadership roles at Taj properties—overseeing rooms at Taj Bekal Resort & Spa and later heading operations at Taj Fisherman’s Cove in Chennai.

In 2019, Abhishek joined Marriott International as Hotel Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, where he played a central role in launching the hotel.

His performance led to his appointment as Director of Hotel Openings for South Asia in 2022. In this capacity, he oversaw pre-opening and conversion operations for 35 properties, significantly expanding Marriott’s footprint across the region.

Now, taking the reins in Mumbai, his focus is on driving strategic renovations, enhancing F&B offerings, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Sharing his thoughts on the appointment, Abhishek said, “Mumbai has a special place in my heart, and over the years, it’s truly become a city that feels like home. After spending the last three years spearheading new hotel openings for Marriott across South Asia, I felt the timing was right to return to hotel operations.”

Under Abhishek’s leadership, the hotel is poised for renewed momentum, further strengthening its appeal to both business and leisure travelers.
