Papa John’s has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud to leverage advanced technologies aimed at enhancing customer experiences, improving operations, and fostering innovation across its platforms.
This collaboration will utilise AI, data analytics, and machine learning (ML) to streamline customer interactions, ultimately boosting satisfaction.
The initiative is expected to lead to more frequent orders, higher order value, reduced customer service costs, and an overall improved pizza experience.
PJX, Papa John’s new innovation team, will integrate Google Cloud’s AI and ML capabilities to enhance both in-store and digital customer experiences.
Todd Penegor, the president and CEO of Papa John’s, highlighted that this partnership will elevate personalisation by anticipating customers’ needs and providing tailored recommendations and offers.
He emphasized that the focus is not just on convenience but on creating a joyful, personalised pizza experience to foster long-term loyalty.
A key component of the partnership includes using Google’s BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Gemini to predict customer preferences and suggest orders for special occasions.
Papa John’s also plans to personalise loyalty experiences by applying Google’s generative AI models to optimise rewards, benefits, and adapt the app and website to user needs.
Additionally, the company intends to predict customer ordering patterns using AI to deliver relevant promotions and ordering shortcuts.
AI-driven marketing campaigns will also be introduced, offering customised content and promotions.
To enhance customer service, an AI-powered chatbot will be developed to address routine inquiries, with the ability to escalate complex issues to live agents.
Papa John’s will also implement a Google Cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system, enabling AI-driven dispatching, route optimisation, and automation of key restaurant processes, including AI-powered voice ordering through the app.
