GLOBAL – Leading hotel brand Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced revisions to its senior management structure, reflecting a strategic transformation into a more agile, brand-centric organization.
Hyatt has announced a series of key leadership appointments aimed at enhancing its growth strategy across all brand portfolios.
Javier Águila, who has successfully led Hyatt’s EAME region since 2022, is being promoted to Chief Growth Officer globally, effective July 1, 2025.
In addition to this new role, he will also serve as President, Inclusive Collection, starting March 1, 2025. In his expanded responsibilities, Águila will oversee overall growth strategies and transactional activities, while continuing to lead the EAME region and assist Marc Jacheet during his transition until June 30, 2025.
Following the transition period, both executives are expected to fully assume their new roles, with Águila reporting directly to President & CEO Mark Hoplamazian.
Marc Jacheet is set to join Hyatt as Group President, Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME), effective March 17, 2025, with his full transition taking effect on July 1, 2025.
With over 25 years of international business experience, Jacheet has held prominent leadership roles at global luxury and consumer brands such as De Beers, Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon, and Evian, and previously managed operations for Tiffany & Co. across Asia Pacific and the EAME region.
Based at Hyatt’s EAME Hub in Zurich, he will report to Hoplamazian.
In a further realignment, Jim Chu, who has served as Hyatt’s Chief Growth Officer since 2022, will assume the new role of Head of Owner Relations effective July 1, 2025.
Chu’s two decades of experience in owner- and operator-focused roles within the company are expected to drive innovation and deliver enhanced value to a key stakeholder group, while he continues to report to Hoplamazian.
Hoplamazian highlighted that these appointments are designed to transform Hyatt into a more brand-focused organization that caters to the diverse needs of guests, owners, and developers across lifestyle, luxury, inclusive, classics, and essentials portfolios.
He expressed his confidence that with Jacheet’s extensive global operations expertise and Águila’s strategic acumen in organic and inorganic growth, as well as Chu’s proven track record, Hyatt is well-positioned to lead the next phase of its global expansion journey.
