Proflight Zambia to double daily flights on Livingstone–Lusaka route from April 2025

ZAMBIA/SOUTH AFRICA – Proflight Zambia has announced that its Livingstone–Lusaka route will operate twice daily, up from once daily, beginning April 2025 to align with the safari season and enhance connectivity for travellers arriving in Livingstone from Cape Town and those connecting via Johannesburg.

Proflight Zambia has introduced an updated flight schedule aimed at reducing transit times and offering greater flexibility for travelers visiting iconic destinations such as Victoria Falls, white-water rafting venues, helicopter tour sites, and wildlife excursions in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

Under the new timetable, an early afternoon service will depart from Livingstone at 12:20 pm, arriving in Lusaka at 1:30 pm, while the return flight leaves Lusaka at 10:35 am, reaching Livingstone at 11:45 am.

An additional early evening service departs Livingstone at 6:20 pm and lands in Lusaka at 7:30 pm, with its return flight departing Lusaka at 4:35 pm and arriving in Livingstone at 5:45 pm.

Dedicated Safari Season Routes

For the busy safari season, Proflight Zambia has also implemented a specialized schedule to cater to nature enthusiasts.

Flights from Lusaka to Mfuwe will operate on Fridays at 6:55 am (arriving at 8:05 am), on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays at 10:35 am (arriving at 11:45 am), and on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 4:35 pm (arriving at 5:45 pm).

Additionally, the Livingstone, Mfuwe route, which connects via Lusaka, will run on selected days with returns scheduled on alternate days.

This particular route is designed to provide access to South Luangwa, renowned for its walking safaris and exceptional wildlife encounters, including leopards, elephants, and the rare Thornicroft’s giraffe.

Broader Connectivity to Key Destinations

Proflight Zambia’s Lusaka services further connect travelers to emerging tourism hubs such as Mansa, ideal for exploring Lake Bangweulu’s birdwatching, fishing, and boat tours, and Kasama, located near attractions like Chishimba Falls, the Mwela Rock Paintings, and Lake Tanganyika, celebrated for its fishing and snorkelling opportunities.

Adapting to Seasonal Trends

Josias Walubita, Director of Flight Operations at Proflight Zambia, explained, “By increasing the frequency between Livingstone and Lusaka and refining our safari season timetable, we offer customers more flexibility and shorter transit times.”

He added that these enhancements ensure all passengers, from those arriving on our new Cape Town–Livingstone service to those on long-standing routes, can reach Zambia’s iconic attractions more efficiently.

With Victoria Falls at its most dramatic in April and national parks hosting some of the world’s best safari lodges, now is an ideal time for South African travelers to experience Zambia’s unique blend of natural beauty and adventure.
