Cricket South Africa partners with Marriott Bonvoy, Protea Hotels as official hotel sponsors for the Proteas

SOUTH AFRICA – Cricket South Africa (CSA) has sealed a multi-year partnership with Marriott International, naming Protea Hotels by Marriott and its acclaimed Marriott Bonvoy travel program as the official hospitality partner for the Proteas.

The partnership, executed through Protea Hotels by Marriott, will cater to the accommodation needs of South African cricket teams, CSA personnel, and visiting international sides.

Additionally, it will support CSA’s High Performance Programmes and key events, further enhancing the nation’s cricketing ecosystem.

Partnership Details

This strategic alliance is designed to elevate the overall travel and stay experience for the Proteas while reinforcing CSA’s commitment to the growth of the sport.

CSA’s CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, indicated that joining forces with Marriott Bonvoy and Protea Hotels would enable the teams to enjoy exceptional hospitality during tours and training camps.

This collaboration not only aims to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction but also helps promote South African cricket and the numerous initiatives dedicated to developing talent both locally and on the international stage.

Enhanced Fan Engagement

The partnership extends benefits well beyond the teams. Cricket enthusiasts, particularly those traveling to cheer on the Proteas, will be offered exclusive rewards via the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme.

Members can earn points when staying at Protea Hotels and over 30 other global hotel brands, with opportunities to redeem these for free nights, room upgrades, and a variety of travel experiences.

Moreover, the initiative will introduce cricket-themed hotel activations that give fans the chance to interact with Proteas players, secure premium match tickets, and access exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

These efforts are aimed at deepening fan engagement and making cricket tourism a more immersive experience.

Johan Cronje, Regional Vice President of Sub-Saharan Africa at Marriott International, expressed pride in supporting CSA and the Proteas, noting that Protea Hotels, as a homegrown brand, truly understands the passion South Africans have for cricket.

This collaboration bridges the gap between sports and hospitality, ensuring that every aspect, from player accommodation to fan engagement, is handled with excellence, ultimately making the Proteas experience more accessible and memorable for supporters worldwide.
