Rotana to set up 36 properties across 22 cities across MENAT region

MENAT – Leading hotel management company Rotana has announced a strategic global expansion plan pivoted around establishing 36 hotels across 22 cities in the MENAT region (Middle East, Africa, Europe and Turkey) within the next 10 years.

Rotana made the announcement during the recently concluded Saudi Tourism Forum (STF), revealing plans to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia with nine new properties in 2025.

This move highlights the Kingdom’s role as a key market for the hotel chain. Rotana’s expansion aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and tourism promotion.

The company aims to triple its hotel key count in the Kingdom to 6,000 within three years. In 2024, three new properties, including Nova M—the first Edge by Rotana hotel in Saudi Arabia—were opened, further solidifying the brand’s presence.

Looking ahead to 2025, Rotana plans five new openings, such as Yasmina Rayhaan by Rotana in Riyadh, to meet growing demand for hospitality in the region.

The company is also expanding its footprint beyond Saudi Arabia, targeting the GCC, Türkiye, Africa, and Europe.

This strategic diversification aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for premium hospitality. Rotana’s reputation for blending Middle Eastern hospitality with world-class amenities positions it to cater to both business and leisure travelers in the evolving global tourism landscape.

Philip Barnes, Rotana’s CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to growth, highlighting the immense potential in the hospitality and tourism sectors, fueled by rising business and leisure travel.

With major events like the FIFA World Cup 2034 set to take place in Saudi Arabia, Barnes reiterated Rotana’s dedication to delivering exceptional “Treasured Time” experiences through outstanding hospitality services.

By balancing its Middle Eastern heritage with global aspirations, Rotana aims to exceed guest expectations and create memorable stays.

Rotana’s ambitious expansion plans, combined with Saudi Arabia’s ongoing tourism initiatives, signal a transformative era for the hospitality sector.

As the Kingdom prepares to host global events and continues to advance its Vision 2030 objectives, the global travel industry is set to benefit from improved connectivity, innovative offerings, and enhanced travel experiences.
