KENYA – Don Julio 1942 returned as an official partner of Tribal Chic for its 15th edition, held at Tribe Hotel on Saturday, March 7th.

The showcase brought together leading Kenyan designers, fashion enthusiasts, media personalities, and luxury collectors for an evening honouring craftsmanship and creative excellence across both men’s and women’s fashion.

The partnership marks Don Julio 1942’s second consecutive year at the event, a natural extension of the brand’s fashion pillar and its commitment to showing up in spaces where craft and culture converge.

Much like the designers whose work graced the runway, Don Julio 1942 is a product of patience and intention, born from the vision of Don Julio González, who in 1942 planted his first agave fields with the conviction that quality should never be compromised for convenience.

That founding philosophy remains at the heart of every bottle produced today.

“As a brand, Don Julio is honoured to return as a partner of Tribal Chic for the second consecutive year. Fifteen years of consistently holding space for Kenyan designers speaks to a resilience and commitment that mirrors our brand, ” said Victoria Mbugua, Portfolio Brand and Innovation Manager, Tequila East Africa at EABL.

This partnership reinforces our commitment to showing up in spaces where craft is revered, culture is honoured, and luxury is made with intention. Being part of the full evening, from the runway to the after party at Hero Bar, allows us to be present across every moment that matters, “ she added.

For fifteen years, Tribal Chic has served as one of Africa’s most respected fashion platforms, spotlighting designers whose work bridges heritage, innovation, and contemporary luxury.

Central to its identity is a commitment to amplifying Kenyan creative talent alongside select international brands, championing a vision of luxury that is both globally minded and deeply rooted in local identity.

This year’s theme, The Four Elements, drew its inspiration from Earth, Air, Fire, and Water as the primal forces behind creativity and artistry.

It was a theme that resonated through the collections on the runway, many of which were crafted by social enterprises working with natural and sustainably sourced materials, reflecting a generation of designers for whom beauty and responsibility are inseparable.

As part of the partnership, Don Julio 1942 elevated the experience through refined hospitality moments designed to complement the runway showcase.

The brand’s presence invited guests to engage with the story behind the liquid itself, from the careful sourcing of Blue Weber agave to the extended ageing process that defines 1942’s distinct character.

The brand also extended the celebration as the official sponsor of the after party at Hero Bar, where guests continued the evening in a setting that reflected the same ethos of luxury and intentionality that had defined the day.

Kenya’s luxury fashion landscape is in a period of significant momentum, with homegrown designers gaining recognition on continental and international stages.

Tribal Chic has been instrumental in that journey, creating a platform where local talent is not only showcased but placed in conversation with global luxury.

Don Julio 1942’s continued presence within the space reflects a deliberate choice to invest in the cultural institutions that are shaping how Kenya is seen and experienced through the lens of fashion.

The brands are united in a shared belief that true luxury is built on patience, precision, and purpose.
