Riding the wave: Jumeirah teams up with Emirates GBR SailGP, bringing Arabian hospitality to global race events

The collaboration will allow Jumeirah to curate distinctive experiences around race weekends while accessing global audiences across its key markets.

UAE/UK – Jumeirah has announced a multi-year global partnership with the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team, becoming the team’s official Global Hotel Partner.

The collaboration will weave the luxury brand’s signature Arabian hospitality into SailGP race weekends across five continents, starting this weekend at the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix in Auckland.

A Natural Fit Born from the Ocean

The partnership draws on Jumeirah’s deep maritime roots, from its iconic sail-shaped Burj Al Arab to its oceanfront properties in the Maldives and the legendary superyacht The Maltese Falcon.

Michael Grieve, Chief Brand Officer of Jumeirah, explained, “The ocean has shaped our story from the brand’s inception… Partnering with the Emirates GBR SailGP Team is a natural fit, bringing together a shared focus on excellence, performance and positive social and environmental impact.”

Sailing’s Fastest-Growing League Meets Luxury Hospitality

SailGP is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment leagues, featuring high-performance racing in nature-powered F50 catamarans designed to reduce carbon footprints and protect oceans.

The 13 teams compete not just on the water but in the Impact League, a global-first initiative tracking commitment to positive environmental and social action.

Emirates GBR made history last season as the first team to complete the treble, winning the Season Championship, the Impact League and topping the season leaderboard.

The team recently kicked off 2026 with victory in Perth, led by the most successful Olympic sailor of all time, Sir Ben Ainslie.

Shared Values: Excellence, Precision and Purpose

Sir Ben Ainslie welcomed Jumeirah as a Global Partner, noting, “Not only is Jumeirah an iconic brand based in our home-from-home, the UAE, but it also echoes our shared commitment to protecting our oceans and striving for excellence.”

He emphasized that winning at SailGP demands constant innovation, precision and outstanding teamwork, qualities deeply aligned with Jumeirah’s approach to delivering world-class experiences.

For Jumeirah, the partnership represents a space where sport, culture and people connect to celebrate competition at the highest form.

Coming Home to Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The season culminates in Jumeirah’s home market this November with the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix and the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2026 Season Grand Final.

For travelers and racing fans, the partnership promises a taste of Arabian hospitality at some of the world’s most spectacular waterfront race venues.
