Riyadh Municipality Arm, Restaurant Association forge compliance alliance via MoU

The core objective is to enable hospitality establishments to more effectively meet municipal requirements, thereby raising overall service quality and encouraging stronger private investment in the city’s development.

SAUDI ARABIA – Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company has inked a pivotal agreement with the Restaurants & Cafés Owners Association (RCOA) to enhance cooperation, streamline compliance, and elevate service standards across Riyadh’s dynamic food and beverage landscape through targeted awareness and incentive initiatives.

Aligning Private Sector with Municipal Vision

As the development arm of the Riyadh Region Municipality, Remat Al-Riyadh acts as a strategic enabler for private sector participation in urban development.

This new partnership directly supports that mandate by creating a formal channel of collaboration with a key industry body.

The core objective is to enable hospitality establishments to more effectively meet municipal requirements, thereby raising overall service quality and encouraging stronger private investment in the city’s development.

The alliance will focus on clarifying legislative frameworks and facilitating a two-way exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Broad Reach Through Established Network

A critical component of the MoU’s strategy involves leveraging the RCOA’s extensive network of member establishments across the city.

This connection ensures that vital awareness programs, best-practice guidance, and enablement initiatives reach a wide and relevant audience.

The partnership is designed to strengthen consistency, safety, and operational excellence at the point of service, benefiting both businesses and consumers.

By creating a more transparent and supportive regulatory environment, the initiative seeks to foster a hospitality sector that aligns with Riyadh’s ambitious growth and quality-of-life objectives.

Leadership Emphasizes Collaborative Empowerment

Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen AlKuhaimi, Chief Business Officer at Remat Al-Riyadh, characterized the collaboration as a significant step toward strengthening compliance within the F&B sector.

He stated that the partnership reaffirms their commitment to working closely with private enterprises to cultivate a safer, higher-quality environment for all, while providing establishments with the necessary tools to meet regulatory requirements effectively.

Echoing this sentiment, Eng. Abdullah Al-Salamah, Chairman of the RCOA’s Board of Directors, remarked that the agreement empowers their mission to deliver top-tier hospitality.

He noted that closer coordination with the municipal developer allows for clearer requirements, stronger awareness campaigns, and a more supportive ecosystem, enabling businesses to more confidently meet official expectations and contribute to the city’s vibrancy.

This formalized cooperation represents a proactive move to harmonize sector growth with municipal standards, supporting Riyadh’s ongoing transformation as a leading global destination.
