FlyNamibia set to double regional flights, enhancing Southern Africa tourism connectivity

The increased flight frequencies reflect FlyNamibia’s ongoing commitment to fostering regional integration, encouraging economic growth, and strengthening tourism networks across Southern Africa.

NAMIBIA – FlyNamibia has announced plans to significantly expand regional flight frequencies starting April 2026.

The airline will double its Windhoek–Victoria Falls service from three to six flights per week. Additionally, the Windhoek–Maun–Katima Mulilo route will increase to four weekly flights.

These changes aim to boost accessibility along key safari and cross-border tourism corridors linking Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

In a strategic move to enhance connectivity, FlyNamibia has partnered with Fastjet to offer seamless travel between Windhoek and Harare via Victoria Falls.

The airline schedules align with Fastjet’s Victoria Falls–Harare flights, significantly improving itinerary flexibility.

This cooperation is expected to support regional tourism growth and ease travel planning for passengers and tour operators.

FlyNamibia currently operates domestic and regional routes linking Windhoek with destinations including Katima Mulilo, Maun, and Victoria Falls.

The increased flight frequencies reflect FlyNamibia’s ongoing commitment to fostering regional integration, encouraging economic growth, and strengthening tourism networks across Southern Africa.

Beyond passenger services, FlyNamibia’s cargo operations play a crucial role in supporting trade and commerce, facilitating efficient movement of goods within the country and neighboring regions.

The airline’s CEO, Nerine Uys, emphasized the importance of air connectivity in empowering communities and boosting regional development.

These expansions, scheduled to take effect in April 2026, underscore FlyNamibia’s mission to enhance travel options for residents and tourists while reinforcing Namibia’s position as a strategic aviation and tourism hub within Southern Africa.

FlyNamibia has recently attracted significant investment, including a strategic 40% equity acquisition by Airlink, a leading South African airline.

This partnership aims to accelerate Namibia’s post-pandemic recovery and support the expansion of reliable scheduled airline services to, from, and within Namibia.

The investment brings access to Airlink’s advanced reservation and ticketing systems, increasing FlyNamibia’s visibility on global travel platforms.

Beyond financial backing, Airlink provides FlyNamibia with operational, technical, and commercial expertise, enhancing airline management and staff training.

The collaboration empowers FlyNamibia to expand route networks efficiently, improve safety and service quality, and support Namibia’s National Transport Policy objectives.

FlyNamibia is focused on developing aviation skills, creating jobs, and boosting economic growth by connecting smaller Namibian towns and cities with regional and international markets.

This aligns with Namibia’s Harambee Prosperity Plan II (2021-2025), which emphasizes transport infrastructure as a key driver of economic advancement.

Through these investments, FlyNamibia is poised to deliver enhanced connectivity, increased passenger and cargo capacity, and strengthened regional tourism and trade flows across Southern Africa.
