KENYA/QATAR – Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced a major codeshare agreement expanding access to 19 destinations with joint travel starting on October 26, 2025, and tickets on sale from October 21, 2025.

Kenya Airways customers can book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha and onward to 10 destinations through Hamad International Airport, while Qatar Airways passengers gain access to eight points in Kenya Airways’ network via three daily Doha–Nairobi flights.

This partnership significantly broadens connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Qatar Airways customers will reach African destinations such as Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola, and Victoria Falls.

Meanwhile, Kenya Airways travellers can access routes including Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Malé, Singapore, and Tokyo Narita.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will earn Avios points on Kenya Airways-operated codeshare flights, enhancing loyalty benefits.

Future partnership phases will explore deeper collaboration on network development, cargo services, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), airport operations, lounges, sustainability initiatives, and procurement, pending regulatory approvals.

By linking these strategic hubs with various secondary cities, the codeshare arrangement is expected to reduce travel time, simplify booking processes, and improve baggage transfer efficiency for passengers traveling across these key regions.

This expanded alliance marks a significant step forward in fostering stronger aviation ties, improving regional mobility and boosting economic integration across continents.

Kenya Airways has embarked on a robust recovery and growth journey in 2025, marked by significant investments in fleet modernization and network expansion.

The airline has commenced the phased return of its three grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliners, boosting its long-haul capacity and connectivity.

In addition, Kenya Airways plans to lease three new narrow-body aircraft by late 2025 to strengthen regional and domestic operations, enhancing seat capacity and cargo capabilities.

Complementing its fleet upgrades, Kenya Airways has launched new routes such as Nairobi-Douala-Abidjan and Gatwick, and recently introduced the KQSafari Data roaming service to improve passenger experience.

Under CEO Allan Kilavuka’s leadership, the airline is focused on operational efficiency, capital raising, and delivering value to passengers and shareholders.

These initiatives aim to position Kenya Airways as a leading African carrier, strengthening its role in connecting the continent with key global markets.
