Starbucks expands its presence in Peru with two new outlets at Jorge Chávez Airport, Huánuco

This prime location offers travelers added convenience while strengthening Starbucks’ brand presence in one of Peru’s busiest transit hubs.

PERU – Starbucks, together with its licensed operator Delosi, has further strengthened its foothold in Peru by opening two new outlets.

One location is situated within the domestic arrivals area of Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport, while the other is in the central Peruvian city of Huánuco.

This expansion is part of Starbucks’ ongoing growth strategy in emerging Latin American markets.

The airport outlet at Jorge Chávez marks the third Starbucks store within the facility, complementing the existing cafés located in the domestic and international departures zones.

This strategic positioning not only provides convenience to travelers but also reinforces Starbucks’ brand visibility in one of Peru’s busiest transportation hubs.

Additionally, a fourth Starbucks outlet is planned to open soon in the Peru Plaza mezzanine area at the airport, further solidifying its presence.

The Huánuco store is located inside the Real Plaza shopping center and employs 18 staff members, contributing to local job creation.

Delosi and Starbucks now operate over 120 stores across 13 cities in Peru, including Lima, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Chiclayo, Cusco, Huancayo, Iquitos, Piura, and Trujillo, employing approximately 1,700 people countrywide.

Both new stores emphasize sustainability, incorporating locally sourced materials and featuring environmentally friendly initiatives such as energy-efficient technologies, water-saving installations, and comprehensive waste management systems.

The interiors celebrate Peruvian culture through vibrant murals that showcase local artistry and heritage.

Starbucks has built a remarkable presence across Latin America and the Caribbean, with more than 1,800 locations in 26 markets.

The company made its Latin American debut in 2000, initially opening stores in Puerto Rico and Mexico, before expanding to South America with its first store in Lima, Peru, in 2003.

This strategic growth demonstrates Starbucks’ commitment to bringing premium coffee experiences to diverse markets while respecting local cultures.

In Peru, Starbucks continues to offer its signature menu with locally inspired elements, aligning with the evolving preferences of Peruvian consumers.

With the new store openings, Starbucks aims to deepen its connection with Peru’s vibrant communities and growing coffee culture, making the brand a go-to spot for both locals and tourists.
