South Africa announces inaugural tourism investment summit ahead of G20 tourism ministers meeting

SOUTH AFRICA – South Africa has announced it will host the inaugural Tourism Investment Summit on September 9–10, 2025, in Cape Town, ahead of the G20 Tourism Ministers’ Meeting scheduled for September 12 in Mpumalanga.

This landmark summit aims to attract international and domestic investment by focusing on tourism-linked infrastructure, digital innovation, and sustainability.

The Cape Town event will bring together global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to align tourism with South Africa’s broader economic growth objectives.

It is a key component of the country’s strategy to position itself as a leading investment hub within Africa’s tourism sector.

Central themes of the summit include enhancing tourism infrastructure, advancing digital transformation, and promoting sustainable development within the travel industry.
